SPAD

Inspired from a true, sad story during the Vietnam war against the commies, a Skyraider pilot still had his napalm loaded circling and watched his wingman bailed out from his A-1H being hit by a SA-7 heat seeking missile...The wingman wasn't found until a few days later as he was executed by the commis as he landed, he left behind a pregnant wife and two little daughters....

Vigilante

"Vigilante" has a different dictionary meaning than what the USS Midway has given to it. Although the definition is NOT accurate, I like the word for the meaning that the USS Midaway audio tour gives it. It's something like "on guard and ready to defend ones country". What an awesome definition IF only Webster agreed!
